Why a Minor?

A minor is an optional secondary area of study that can be related to or different from your chosen major. A minor gives you the opportunity to explore a secondary topic that complements your major, is intriguing to you, or is simply something you have always wanted to learn! It provides you with a foundational level of education about that topic. A minor can help you:

  • Diversify your education and improve your job prospects
  • Earn a second teachable for Teacher's College
  • Be eligible for graduate studies in mathematics or statistics
