The Math & Stats Academic Advisors are here to assist you with academic issues and personal issues that are impacting your academics. Please come see us for assistance with:
- Course selection advice
- Academic program guidance
- Admission questions, such as transfer credits and credit equivalency

Deferred Assessments - Winter 2026 Extensions and Summer 2026:
If you are unable to complete a S26 final exam/final assignment OR W26 deferred assessment as scheduled for medical, psychological or compassionate reasons, please visit the B.Sc. Academic Advising website and review the Deferred Assessments page carefully and completely for details to submit a request for a deferred assessment/extension.
Course Selection
Please note that the information on this page is tentative and may change often as updates are received. Monitor this page regularly for information regarding course additions, cancellations, changes, restrictions and special registration instructions.
Course Selection for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 semester begins on Tuesday, June 29th, 2026, at 8:00 AM according to the number of credits completed and in progress (see link to Office of Registrarial Services website, Course Selection Windows for information).
All students are encouraged to select courses as soon as possible after their window opens as otherwise, courses or sections for required courses may no longer be available. Course selection will continue until Friday, September 18, 2026 for F26 courses and Friday, January 15, 2027, for W27 courses.

Declaring a Minor
A minor is an optional secondary area of study that can be related to or different from your chosen major. A minor gives you the opportunity to explore a secondary topic that complements your major, is intriguing to you, or is simply something you have always wanted to learn! Setting an Appointment With Your Academic Advisor
To book an appointment, please email bmath.advising@uoguelph.ca to arrange a convenient time. These appointments are 30 minutes in length.
Whether you are meeting in person with a Academic Advisor in the B.Math Academic Counselling Centre, or remotely via Microsoft Teams, there are a few helpful steps that you can take to get the most out of your appointment.
