Housing | International Students

Whether you're looking for tips on Housing or finding community support, this page will provide you with valuable insights and resources to ensure a fulfilling student experience living in Guelph.

For Fall 2026, incoming international-fee-paying undergraduate, graduate (Masters) and transfer students attending the University of Guelph for the first time are guaranteed on-campus housing for the full duration of their studies, as long as you complete the steps outlined by Student Housing Services:

  • Submit your Residence Application by June 1, 2026
  • Pay your $750 deposit by June 1, 2026 *
  • Accept your offer of admission to the University by June 1, 2026

* Note: Your residence deposit is non-refundable once it is paid.

International PhD students are guaranteed University housing for the first year of studies (conditions listed above still apply).

Meal Plans

Short-Term Accommodations

If you are planning to live off-campus, plan to arrive early before the beginning of classes to view housing in person and explore the neighbourhood before deciding on a permanent accommodation. If you are living off-campus or in a residence with kitchen facilities, you can purchase the Ultra Food Plan.
