Transfer Credits for International High School Students

The University of Guelph will grant university-level credit for Advanced Placement courses, Higher Level International Baccalaureate courses and GCE Advanced Level courses.

Advanced Placement (AP)

Applicants who have completed Advanced Placement final examinations with a minimum grade of 4 may receive university credit to a maximum of 2.0 credits, subject to the discretion of the appropriate faculty. Please arrange for an official exam score report to be sent directly to Admission Services. Transfer credit will be assigned once this has been received in Admission Services.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

Transfer credit may be given for higher level courses with final grades of 5 or better to a maximum of 2.0 credits. Transfer credit will be assigned once official final results have been received in Admission Services.
To request an official transcript please contact the International Baccalaureate Organization.

British Advanced level (GCE A level)

Applicants presenting the General Certificate of Education
(GCE) will be granted transfer credits for Advanced level subjects with a final grade of C or better to a maximum of 3.0 credits. Transfer credit will be assigned once official final certificates have been received in Admission Services.

A confirmation of Results Letter is sufficient.
