There are different resources you can reach out to depending on the type of concerns you have about the behaviour.

• Violation of the SRR policy – contact the OSA via email at osa@uoguelph.ca with a brief description of your concern or the incident that you witnessed.
• Concerns related to Discrimination or Harassment – Please reach out to the office of Diversity and Human Rights. They can be contacted via email at dhrinfo@uoguelph.ca
• Sexual and Gender Based Violence - The Sexual and Gender Based Violence Support and Education team can provide resources and next steps depending on your needs.
• Academic Integrity or Academic Misconduct - If you witness or have concerns for someone cheating, please notify an invigilator, your faculty member or your college’s Dean depending on the context.
• For Urgent and Emergency concerns contact Campus Safety Office at 519-840-500 x52000 or call 911.

If you are unsure where to start, you are welcome to reach out to the OSA via email, and we can help direct you to the appropriate department.

Once we receive a report, someone from our office will take time to review and determine the most appropriate next step to address the concerns. You can expect someone to follow-up with you within 48 business hours. They will either provide you with guidance on other resources to address your concerns or provide you with some next steps, such as meeting with a member of our team or providing clarifying information.

Please read the email carefully! There will be specific instructions and timelines that you need to follow. This is important for timely follow-up and to ensure you can engage with the process as much as possible. If you have any questions, you can respond back as directed in the email.

You are welcome to appeal a decision made through an Adjudicated process. This can only be done within 21 days of receiving a decision and only if you meet the grounds for an appeal.

The grounds for an appeal are:

1. New Evidence: There is new information that wasn't available at the time of the decision.
2. Unreasonable Decision: The decision was unreasonable in light of the evidence presented.
3. Unreasonable Outcome: The outcome or action imposed was unreasonable in light of the circumstances of the case.
4. Unfair Process: There was a lack of procedural fairness (i.e. did not follow the policy)
5. Bias: There was bias on the part of the original decision maker

If you believe you meet any of the above criteria, then you are welcome to submit a formal appeal to Student Judicial Services via email at judicial@uoguelph.ca . In your submission be sure to include:

• A completed appeal form (provided with outcome letter)
• Copy of the decision provided to you.
• The grounds for the appeal and an explanation on how you meet the criteria.
• Any relevant documentation that supports your appeal (including documentation that may have been provided before the original decision maker)

Your appeal will then be reviewed by the Judicial Office, who will provide you with next steps in accordance with the Appeal Procedures.
